Design & Implementation

Providence Auto Body was one of my final OMNI projects and one of the projects where I spent the most time translating client expectations into a specific visual direction.

The company has been operating in Rhode Island since 1982 and already had substantial local recognition. The redesign therefore could not feel like a generic “new brand” exercise. My project manager and I worked closely with the client through the process, and I developed a direction that felt premium, established, sleek, and technically capable while still remaining approachable and local.

The content gives significant weight to manufacturer certifications, collision-repair expertise, insurance assistance, lifetime workmanship guarantees, company history, and the practical questions customers have after an accident. I also built reusable local-area content for Providence and surrounding Rhode Island communities rather than treating location SEO as disconnected landing pages.

On the technical side, the site benefited directly from the platform work I had just completed. It uses the newer blog and administrative system that originated in the PGA REACH project and was then incorporated into Project Starter, along with sitemap and structured-content improvements. I also worked on structured-data coverage for major services, certifications, company information, and guarantee pages.

The site includes contact and career workflows as well, including a job application flow with resume upload.

Reflection

This project is a good representation of where I ended my time at OMNI. It combined the client-facing design work I had been doing since 2023 with the reusable CMS, SEO, and platform systems I had spent the later part of my time building.

Rather than treating those as separate concerns, the project benefited from all of them at once.

Project Summary

Key Achievements

  • •Worked closely with my project manager and the client to establish a new visual direction for a prominent long-running local business
  • •Integrated the newer blog and administrative systems developed through PGA REACH and Project Starter
  • •Built structured local SEO content and reusable location-page data for Providence and surrounding service areas
  • •The site was very well received by the client and their customers and lead to future collaboration with OMNI for additional services and marketing work

Key Challenges

  • •Creating a website around a distinct brand with decades of local recognition with an emphasis on the company's expertise, garanties, and customer service
  • •Balancing a premium presentation with the approachable, service-oriented personality expected from a local family business
  • •Organizing certifications, repair services, insurance information, local SEO content, blog content, careers, and trust messaging into one coherent site

Key Learnings

  • •Client collaboration is often strongest when broad aesthetic feedback is translated into specific visual decisions and then iterated in small, explainable steps
  • •Reusable platform improvements become much more valuable once they can move cleanly from one major client project to the next
