Reusable Event Calendar Platform
Built a reusable PHP and MySQL event system with shared public and administrative data flows, responsive month navigation, modal event details, and media-aware event management.

Overview
This reusable module gives organizations a complete way to manage dated events and publish them through a responsive calendar. The public calendar and administrator tools share the same MySQL-backed event model and endpoint behavior, which keeps titles, date ranges, colors, categories, locations, organizers, and descriptions consistent between the two experiences.
The public interface presents a month grid on desktop and a focused event list on smaller screens. Visitors can move between months, see multi-day events span their date range, and open a detail modal without leaving the calendar. The event detail view supports date and time, location, organizer, description, and optional imagery.
System Design
The calendar loads month-specific data through a small PHP endpoint and renders the returned event collection with jQuery to match the rest of the stack used on Project Starter. Date parsing is handled explicitly so that all-day and multi-day events remain stable when the browser’s local time zone changes
The administrative side provides CRUD workflows for creating and editing events, selecting display colors, managing date ranges, and removing records. Image uploads are optimzied and handled in sync with record storage.

Reflection
This project was one of many small but useful modules I built while working on components for Project Starter. The goal was to create a reusable event calendar that could be dropped into any client site with minimal configuration. The shared data model and endpoints allowed for a consistent experience between the public calendar and administrative tools, reducing duplication and potential errors. This module was also reused and expanded for work on a larger system Educational Workshops.
